Spotswood College Alumni Meriti Awards
About the awards
The Alumni Meriti Award is the College’s highest honour, and is bestowed upon accomplished ex-Spotswoodians.
The aim of the awards is to enable the Alumni Trust to acknowledge Distinguished ex-pupils, ex-staff and educational administrators who have made a significant contribution to or demonstrated leadership in their professions, their communities, New Zealand and beyond.
Their achievements serve as an enduring inspiration to all who attend Spotswood College and are an extension of the College’s motto “High Endeavour/Eke Matauranga”. The awards are a testament to the Alumni’s integrity, aspiration and achievement across a broad range of disciplines.
The Distinguished Alumni Service Award

For specific and meritorious service to the College, community or country

Outstanding contributions to the community at large including assistance to individuals and disadvantaged groups

Exhibits integrity and a demonstrated commitment to service through an interest in bettering the lives of others
The Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award

For significant Accomplishments and Achievement, pre-eminence in their chosen field- Academia, The Arts (Performing and Visual), Business/Commerce, Community, Conservation, Cultural, Education, Government, Industry, Literary, Musical, Sport, Technology, Service and any other worthwhile endeavours.
On Wednesday 8th April, 2026 the Alumni Trust held its inaugural Alumni Meriti Awards function at The Plymouth Hotel.
