It was decided that the charges for the 3 shields for Spotswood College would be the Red Lion (from Devon County, England) on a green shield, outside of which would be a red shield, with a gold outer shield.


The helm/crest in gold is situated above the shields while the gold banner below the shields bears the College’s motto “High Endeavour”.


In 1993, after discussions with Ngati Te Whiti the Te Reo Māori translation “Eke Matauranga” was added to the motto under High Endeavour.
